The Lerdo Bridge, officially the Stanton-Lerdo International Bridge and known for its DCL lane, connects downtown Ciudad Juárez with downtown El Paso via Stanton Street. It is a four-lane bridge popular with daily commuters heading downtown, especially for its dedicated lane for frequent travelers. Unlike Santa Fe and Puente Libre, it does not run 24 hours.
The Lerdo Bridge is open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to midnight. If you need to cross overnight, you'll have to use Santa Fe or Puente Libre, which run 24 hours. Keep the schedule in mind when planning your crossing, especially very early or very late.
Lerdo's big advantage is its DCL (Dedicated Commuter Lane), exclusive to SENTRI cardholders. It is one of the fastest downtown crossings if you already have the card, since that lane almost always moves much better than the regular ones. There are regular lanes too for those without the document, though the wait can be long at peak hours.
Within its hours, Lerdo usually has lighter lines mid-morning and in the early afternoon on weekdays. Early mornings, when commuters head to work, are the heaviest. It is a toll bridge, so have your payment ready for the booth. Check the live wait time above before you leave.
